When the hell did you start playing again dude?
I don't, I just play league and occasionally criticize the players here. (Kinda like maszrum LOL)
Spoiler
If Analysis videos are of interest I'm willing to cover more broad topics, such as:

Town Control (Comps, Tactics, and why rushing is good/bad and when to do it correctly).
Builds (Going into deep analysis about perks and why they are good and bad and which are better logically)
Team Fighting (AP Usage [EXTREMELY IMPORTANT], Wrap effect)
Regear (How to be over WM within seconds of dying.)

Some of you know these topics, but I'm sure you don't know all of it intricately.

Based from feedback on recent analysis video, I'm not sure if community finds these worthwhile to watch or create. Thanks in advance.
Yes on all of those! Why? There are a lot of people that play this game for years and still lack the knowledge to properly play as a teamplayer. While not so many but some people are still joining the comunity of FOnline2, those new people are in need of proper education which they can gain from your videos. You do a great job!
Say less !
Today's video covers respawning and re-gearing, and I can say confidently that not a single player does it this effectively to this day except for 2 exceptional players that don't play anymore.

Hex theory for those interested. (Pretty much everything to be good at it besides clicking which can be practiced.)

If ratios were changed and people were given an alternative due to situation it could work out great, just a few tweaks needed

Very big patch. Well done Dev Team.

As for the Item changes - it's about variety and different playstyles. Perhaps with enough testing and enthusiasm we might have melee users in actual teamfights or TC if they become useful.

Who knows. Give it a try and see how it goes, theres always skeptical at the start.

General Discussion / Re: What's your funniest FOnline2 story?
« on: December 14, 2019, 06:27 »
I'll start.

A friend of mine created an Account named Username and the Password was Password. So whenever new players would log in the game they would press register and walk around, do dumb stuff and quit.

After about a year the account was level 17+
I could be wrong but I believe the account was rerolled at level 24-26
This story is quite sad, just think of how many new players thought that in this game you don't even create a character, just start in some random place with already leveled character and do some idiotic random stuff without explanation and tutorials. And with stupid character's name - Username.
Then they told all their friends "This is not fallout online, this is just some arcade game with fallout graphics, where you can't even choose your SPECIAL, skills and perks! Don't even bother downloading it!".
And now FOnline is dead because of friend of Aco!
If someone gives up that easily, they'd be gone anyways.

There's been a few, but one of the funniest that I recall was at Glow surface. Talons/MRMC/NCR/etc were on south and either Bears or BBS were north, both sides on mostly ranged characters. Laser bolts, rockets, and 5mm rounds were flying in both directions when a mutant named Big Puns spawns in south. Now you'd think if someone spawned into such a barrage of fire, their first reaction would be to go out as soon as possible. But no, Big Puns walks gingerly across the field of fire, rockets and lasers whizzing by to his left and right and in between Avengers bursting, and enters the hole without a scratch.

-------------------------

There was a new Junktown Scout, his name was Forty-Two Seven or some such, that wanted some help leveling his character, and asked to join him for a caravan. I meet him Hub north and he's with another player with a very similar name to his. I thought nothing of it and we go on caravan, but he wants to go turn-based. So we are on our way, and the turns are absolutely brutal in length. It's as if he were physically running to another computer to move the other character. After a few encounters I tell him, look, if you want to level your other character, this is taking way too long, we can take it to toxic caves or something. To which he replied, "Oh, sorry, but I'm not on that other character. It's my 5 yr old son"
Reminds me of when I once pretended to be a new player and everytime it was my turn I would hold it and refuse to press END CMBT button so turn based lasted forever and made the guy who was helping me go out of his mind. He truly lost it. (Cant remember if it was fo2 or 2238)

Sorry about sloppy quotes. Replying with phone is hectic.

I'd love to renew my fake Italian passport. Geez you're a life saver!

Appears to be coming along nicely. It's so awesome that you guys are still working on this project.

5 years of this current season? Kudos to the people who have continued to play non-stop. You guys are awesome.

P.s. I really miss this game and the people here. Will definitely see ya'll in the near future.

Another spitball idea; Facebook ads.

Bare with me for a minute, I know it seems sketchy at first but it's much better than it seems.

Google Pixel is a software that attaches to accounts such as Facebook pages, Instagram, YouTube, etc. This software processes the information of everyone who views and interacts with products or pages and in the background it monitors what else the user interacted with during their lifetime on the internet. It then matches all the data and creates a common interest within all these users. It could be that they enjoy the same types of games, they both search indie games, they both use the same porn website (lol).

Anyways, with this Data you can use it to run Smart Ads on Facebook. The benefit of Smart ads is that you can target audience, which basically means you can select games that are very similar to FOnline2, things like;
People who search for Fallout 1 mods;
People who search for Fallout 2 mods;
People who search for any 2D game that is remotely similar to FOnline or Fallout in General.
And lastly, it applies the data that has been run through the 400-800 people who have interacted with any kind of FOnline2 ad or page over the internet and matches similarities, honestly this kind of software is extremely powerful if used in the right hands. Moving on...

With all those categories applied, you could receive a number such as 13300 people on Facebook that have similar tastes. Now what Facebook and Pixel offer you is to pay a daily fee. It could be $2, $5, $10, $50, $100, $500, daily. Amount of money applied to the search will affect things such as hours the ad is being displayed and to how many people it will attempt to target. In most cases $5 will target at least 500 in 12hours. (Best to run the ad from 1AM to 1PM).

Food for thought. If the game was intended to be launched with a huge audience for the future, it might be something to consider.

Thank you for your time everyone. :)

Fallout2 graphics actually looks horrible but since it was all we had back then we got used to it and now FOnline is nostalgic and we love the graphics because we're used to it. Kind of like a bad painting.

Other games like LoL for example change a lot and release new champions or update older ones and most people dont like the appearance until a few hours or days but afterwards they forgot what it used to look like and enjoy the newer version as the old.

The concept of the game remains the same only with much more possibilities and more room to expand.

I dont know about Adblock. On my phone or on my computer with modern internet browsers I still recieve ads on videos and on pages.

Modern YouTube videos that are being created right now can recieve a reasonable amount of income. Roughly 45% of people on youtube use Adblock and considering it works for both browsers and youtube it's reasonable to believe that 55% of ads would still be viewed.

As someone who uses youtube as a source of revenue myself I can say that it's not a low source. 1000 views can range from 3 dollars to 9.

Edit: 48% use Adblock from Youtubes global statistics btw.
I dont think many people would disrespect developers for applying ads to their game's media to support it.

Releasing updates about the server in videos on youtube that come with a 30 second forced to watch ad is aggressive yes, but those kind of ads pay a lot if they are watched.

If the server does get more popular next season, revenue from things like this and potential of becoming something a lot bigger is very possible.
