More sp per level after soft level cap
« on: November 14, 2013, 23:04 »
Number of skill points gained after soft lvl cap is very low - 50% of number of sp per lvl gained before soft level cap. When I compare it to reloaded I am a little dissapointed. I suggest to increase it - 75% of standard value. It will allow to create more universal builds aspecially hybrid builds. This means less alts and more fun.

After adding new generic skill cap (200% + INT * 10%) there is no risk that players will use extra skill point to pump one combat skill.

I deplore the entire aspect of getting skills raised past level 24. Yeah, it's intended to reduce alting. But that just spurs the creation of Mary Sues.

So -1 to this 'ere suggestion.

More skillpoints or make some skills like OD, science, repair similar as scavenging and barter. The more you science and repair, the more skill you get.

That so? Then we make alts  ;)

It's already easier to make sciencer alt to support pvp alt than first level the pvp alt, max all skills required for the type of pvp the build is supposed to do and after all that, spend skillpoints in science.

Well, i'm a jack of all trades type guy so i'll keep putting skillpoints into skills that i didn't use as much before to help balance my self out in the end. I don't use ALTs anyway. I'm going neutral with this post so neither +1 or -1  8)

Just limit the skills as it is with science, that more than 200% won't help you very much (or will give you LESSER chance per % than now) so having 200% and 300% skill will be just a wish of a "nerd player" who wants to have all on max efficent, having 300% of skill shouldn't have been rewarded more than level up in this way it is now.
Eventually making skills limits depending on intelligence is good way to balance but I wish other skills don't have THAT big difference like it is with sneak - between having 200% and 300% it's huge diference, and I wish it to be smaller, so we won't look at that being so "minimaxing skills".

I've been succesfull in making a jack-of-all-trades character with combat skill, 250+ FA, repair/science, outdoorsman and lockpick at about 45 level. Is it too late or is it too soon - pure balance issue, I'm against any change. It's possible already without any mindless grinding after several days of normal game, so I'd leave that rate as it is.

Agreed. It'd be helpful to not-experienced players who could think that they should max. science, repair or Close Combat beyond 160/160/200% respectively, even if in fact they don't get any benefits from that. Implementing an in-build cap would save them from that pure waste of skillpoints.

Exactly, I don't like to create tons of alts - science alt, repair alt, shopchecker alts... If it is so easy to create sciencer with 160% science - why game prevents players from creating combat alt with 160% science.

Great, now we have enough skill points to make character with one combat skill. But I would like to make good sg/bg burster :)

Because we want first those skill points used for combat, and then we go for additional ones.

This. Some people will always find a reason to make alts, no matter how small the bonus it will give. Now the average joe doesn't need any to get to the same level as alter, just later. So no problem.

Creating a "swiss army knife" of a character is pure art and not for everyone! :P
Skill points are enough.
