Sierra Caves [Newbie Guide]
« on: November 19, 2014, 21:30 »
Hello Wastelander!

I'm sure you heard of mythical Sierra caves... No? well... you heard now!

Here i will show you the few helpfull guides and informations about this amazing random generated dungeon!

First off!

----Preparations----

-You should be at least level 12 in order to enter the caves and get out of them without much problems.

-You can bring friends! up to 3 person squad can enter the same cave [remember! the leading person must be tagged and enter first in oder to move whole squad]
Warning! there is 1% chance that someone will be lost in the cave! but fear not! you can find eachother after some searching!

-Make sure you have good armour and some Healing stuff, competition may be harsh
Warning! You can encounter other player groups that are not always as friendly as they may look, always check the targets at some safe distance!

-Remember to set up Combat mode that you want to explore the cave! what may sound easy and fast in RT [Real Time] it is not, TB [Turn-Based] is much easier to do but it takes a lot more time
Warning! Setting Both Combat Mode can lead to some suprises! always remember to check this
--------------

--------------
You can find it under Options tab!

-You go in as the Squad? as the Squad you move! never split up! you never what may come after you!
Warning! Make sure you and your friends know your roles! its a MUST to have an Lockpicker [100%] and Trapper [50%] in order to safetly search the Sierra Caves

Preparations done? Cool! now lets get to the best! How to navigate in the Sierra caves!

----Navigation----

You can find Sierra caves only near Sierra Army Depot [You dont say?]

Here they are:

Coordinates

After you reached these Coordinates With or Without your friends all you need to do is to enter the encounter [simply enter the area by clicking on your navigation cursor]

After succesful entry, you should see something like this!

It is time to enter! Brave explorer! Prepare to find a lot of suprises!

You change locations by stepping on [or when Leader steps on special grid - everyone must be close!]

This one Changes Location!

This one makes you completly leave the Sierra caves! [they are a bit rare so be carefull!]

You may find:

Magazines!

They are protected by Locked doors!
Warning! Doors may be trapped by some Non Lethal [yet still very dangerous] Traps! Simply use Traps skill on them.

Goodies inside them are very random, coming from 300-500 ammo [random type] or something special, like here!

Boxes! [Some of them are very sneaky!]

- This one is defending himself with some traps! [Anti Personel Mines can appear too!]

- Sneaky award of the Year goes for this one!

Loot inside them? Random too! [Didnt i told ya that Random is God?]

but this random can come in with this!

!Warning!

You can find Blueprints inside the boxes!

!Warning!

----Sierra Caves Floor 2----

To enter Second floor you need to find an ladder!

They are quite rare so be on lookout, they may be hidden a bit but overall are easy to spot!

The Exit from Floor 2 comes only in Ladder up which leads to floor 1! then you must find normal exit from the caves!
Here is the Ladder up!

It is Very Very rare, so far i found only 1 exit on on 30 min run on sierra caves which may be very dangerous thanks to few other rules!

Loot is a little bit different, You may now find:

High Quality resources
High tier Blueprints
Shovels - aw yiss!
Tent backpacks - top chance to find this shit!
High Grade Weapons and Armour [Mega power fists for example]

But! This loot is guarded!

So far i found that Deathclaws are the most common enemy inside which is already not so easy [they deal amazing damage, tear your ass out and draw their insignas on it!]

There are also normal ones that come by.

This time, i found that there are also friendly players [you can see that in Floor 2 Player encounters are much more frequent and Team sizes are random]

----Unknown----

There is still much to find out.

Good guide!

If you are a more experienced player you also can do this in Real Time Mode. It's still a bit dangerous, though but manageable.

For example you can go there with a BG Tank. Lockpick is mandatory of course but you don't necessarily need the traps skill (although you don't need much % to disarm most traps). Instead you also can raise your doctor skill, which is what you would want to do anyway with such a build and take the Light Step - Perk. Pretty helpful for stepping on traps without triggering them (well, in most cases :)). If it happens, though, you can deal the damage. Only the anti-personal-mines are still a bit dangerous then.

I know some guy, who's doing this with a Closed Combat Char even. He might get problems with the raiders sometimes because they can be numerous but on the other hand you can run quite fast with high cc skill :).

Update!

Sierra Caves Floor 2 added [small pinch, Ape Rape was common when i was trying to work]

Friendly Reminder - It would help me a great deal if you would not whip my ass with your stupid weapons next time you see me in Sierra Caves, if you want someone to shot, let me finish the Guide... you fuck.
